Ford Fiesta review

Overview of New Ford Fiesta
New Ford Fiesta is based on all-new platform & the interiors are also different with all-new design for central console, new steering wheel with audio controls on it & also feature automatic climate control method. Ford India has priced the new Fiesta over the current generation Fiesta & they will sell both the models simultaneously. This is the best strategy to cash-in by selling generations of cars like Hyundai did with Accent & Skoda did with Octavia.

  1. Maruti Suzuki’s Ciaz Review

Ciaz is being looked upon as a replacement for SX4. Ciaz would take on to compete directly with strong brand-models like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento, Nissan Sunny and Renault Scala.

The new sedan would be a perfect replacement to the current SX4, which was a sedan itself. Size-wise there isn’t a major difference. Overall dimensions are almost the same, except the wheelbase. Ciaz is almost ready to be driven on street, its main attraction would be the huge chrome grille and large swept back headlights. The increased wheelbase will have a nice sweeping silhouette for the roof that dives into the boot. The rear is smartly sculpted with slightly raised boot and wraparound tail-lights.

One more additional feature of Ciaz is, it offers a spacious cabin. Rear legroom is perfectly designed with backrest angled comfortably with right amount of lower back support. It’s a clean layout, reminds Kizashi, with beige/black interior. Zdi+ / Zxi+ are featured with leathery touch. The dashboard has an elegant waterfall layout with new multimedia system that includes a larger touch-screen with access to music, phone and navigation. This system is specially developed for Ciaz giving a user friendly touch. Over and above its voice command works perfectly fine.

Being an Indian brand, Maruti has yet again, continued its option variants by presenting the petrol/diesel combination like that of SX4. The petrol version has a new iteration of K series engine. Displacement, power and torque figure are almost identical but the engine has been modified extensively for better efficiency. Maruti claims 20.73kpl under test conditions, which is impressive considering its overall size and specifications. The diesel is one step ahead which claims a mileage of 26.21kpl. A part from increased efficiency, its weight has been reduced overall, by having lightweight high tensile steel chassis thereby increasing its pick-up speed.

The diesel is a better option. Low-end torque has improved significantly and the lag has reduced to offer more seamless power delivery through the range. The five-speed manual gear box has smoother shift-feel in petrol as compared to diesel. Both versions can build speed easily and confidently.

Most important is, its on road price, it is yet not out but Maruti is hinting it to be competitive, close to Honda City. A Car to car comparison, both are marginally different from each other but Honda City enjoys better brand value while the Ciaz is an altogether new model. Overall list of equipment isn’t too bad. ABS, airbags, parking sensors with reversing camera, a top-notch multimedia system, 16-inch alloy wheels are all there, but only in the top variant.

Considering the overall dimensions and specifications, Ciaz, will surely give a comfort and perfect feel of being the best family sedan car, important, it is from the top most Indian car-brand Maruti Suzuki.
