0.25% discount on auto loans by Dena Bank

Mumbai: On the heels of the leaders of the industry with the release of special loans / discounts on sales to take advantage of the feast, the average size of state lender Dena Bank has launched a loan mela your account under providing a base 25 points of new car loans and reduce by half the processing fee.

Early launch of Nissan Sunny sedan’s diesel variant

 Mumbai: Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd launched the petrol version of its sedan Sunny in Mumbai on Tuesday to advance to the introduction of the diesel variant. The decision was motivated by the shift to diesel cars in India, said Gilles Normand, president of Nissan corporate vice president of Africa, Middle East and India. "We've been talking with our engineers to see if we can advance the implementation," Normand said, adding that the proportion of gasoline to diesel engines in India has tilted in favor of the latter, from 45:55 to 20: 80 above.

Timing Chain failure in Fiat Grande Punto

Just pulling away from a junction, about 2000 revs, no bang, no fuss, rolled to a halt as gently as you like. The timing chain had snapped according to the Fiat garage, needs all 32 cam followers replacing, plus of course the timing chain and tensioners. I think I will need to sit down when I hear the estimate. Has anyone EVER managed to get compensation out of Fiat after warranty expired?

Increasing loan rates, costly fuel keep auto sales in slow track

New launches, discounts and freebies failed to spur auto sales in August as rising loan rates and higher fuel prices kept buyers away from showrooms.

The industry is worried the lean period may extend into the festival season.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the country’s largest car maker, reported a 13% fall in sales over a year ago to 91,442 vehicles in August, the company said in an statement. The disruption in production at its Manesar plant caused by labour unrest in end-August adversely impacted the sales numbers during the month, Maruti said.

“The inquiry levels are high. We are seeing footfalls in our showrooms, but they are not converting into sales. A turnaround will not be as fast as it was expected,” said Shashank Srivastava, chief general manager, marketing and sales, Maruti Suzuki.

At Hyundai Motor India Ltd, the country’s second largest car maker, sales inched up to 51,030 units in August from 50,633 a year ago. Tata Motors Ltd’s sales declined 2.84% to 64,078 units. Sales of its small car Nano, the world’s cheapest car, fell 85% to 1,202 units.
